Kenndarr Farms is located on the top of the North Mountain in Garland, Nova Scotia. The farm is owned and operated by Ben and Taylor, and the many hands that offer their help when needed. The name Kenndarr comes from Ben's late grandfather, who used to own and operate his own cattle farm on the South Mountain. In 2017, Ben began growing vegetables and established a small hop farm in his parents backyard. Not long after securing his own spot on the North Mountain in 2019, Ben and I bought our first three heifers. It wasn't until having our own livestock that we discovered our true passion is working cattle. It didn't take long until we began growing our herd one by one, while even adding some sheep, chicken and hogs into the mix. We're now farming over 40 head of cattle, while seasonally managing chicken and hog.

At Kenndarr Farm, we are proud to be a first-generation farm. Our goal is to operate our farm sustainably and provide our customers with farm-to-table products. We understand that producing high-quality beef and pork is essential to providing healthy and safe food for our community. Our cows are grass-fed all year round and grain finished. We source our grain locally, and feed spent grain from local breweries as a sustainable practice that contributes to a circular economy. We take great care in the raising and feeding of our animals to ensure that the beef and pork we provide is of the highest quality. We take great pride in keeping our operations local, and knowing that our products are nourishing our community.
