We are Michelle and Al Wolf, and welcome to Herbal Hill Farm! In our quest to live a sustainable life, our ecological homestead on the slopes of the north mountain outside of Berwick in the Annapolis Valley features 70 raised bed gardens, an ecosystem of mixed landscapes, public garden tours, native plants, workshops and classes, a beautiful on-site retail shop, a welcoming hub for WFM2GO customers on Wednesdays, and a venue for hosting small weddings. This is a working business but also a place of beauty, creativity, and tranquility. Our offerings are a way to share the peace and restoration of a life lived close to the land with our community.

 Our property has been operating on solar energy since 2022, and waste reduction is one of our leading values. An ethos of environmental care has helped us build a diverse, creative, intentional small farm business. We thank you for your support and dedication. 

We are committed to the transition to a sustainable world through how we live and how we steward our 8 acre permaculture homestead. We garden according to the ecological principles of nature, with biodiversity, the use of hand tools, simplicity, and beauty at the core of our gardening philosophy. Our previous farm property was certified organic, and Michelle was deeply involved with organic certification in the province for many years. Today, we maintain healthy soils, a healthy ecosystem, and diverse habitat for pollinators, birds, amphibians and wildlife as our expression of living lightly on the land.
