An 'Aficionado' is someone who is very knowledgeable or enthusiastic about an activity, subject or pastime. For us that is sustainably sourced and transparent seafood. Our goal as a company is to keep Nova Scotian seafood in Nova Scotian bellies by fostering connections with our region’s small-scale, community-based fisheries and aquaculturists, and by building relationships throughout our community.

To ensure sustainability we follow the Oceanwise recommendation standards as our main guidelines and for our products which are not Oceanwise recommended - we ensure that they are fished using low impact fishing methods. We believe that sustainable seafood is seafood that is fished or farmed without jeopardizing the web of life in our oceans. All of our products are traced back as far as possible to give customers the information they need to make an informed decision surrounding sustainability.
