Fire Cider Vinegar is a widely popular folk herbal, known for its vast array of health benefits, and as an amazing circulation and immunity strengthener during the colder months of the year. It's peppery, strong and hot, full of flavours and zing. To temper all this boldness and fiery-ness, it also contains beautiful local wildflower honey, and when taken it’s usually mixed with water, or turned into a warming beverage by adding a tablespoon to hot water. (I love to start my day with a splash of it in hot water, that feels amazing!) Its also recommended to use fire cider vinegar in salad dressings, sauces, splashed over lightly steamed greens, and other places where it's delicious culinary aspects can be celebrated.

We are so proud of how hyper-local and authentically made our version is. I start with Boates raw apple cider vinegar (they are based in the Valley about 10km from here). To this I add our own fresh herbs and alliums - horseradish, onions, shallots, garlic, sage, thyme, and hot peppers, all from our gardens. Then I add lots of fresh local ginger root, and six whole chopped organic lemons. I add certified organic turmeric root and black peppercorns to add a bit more anti-inflammatory goodness. Wow! What an incredible fire cider. Just before bottling, I warm each batch in our extra large stock pot and stir in 3 heaping cups of dark, rich wildflower honey from a beekeeper collective on the South Shore.
